About Folds of Honor

Folds of Honor is a leading non-profit organization that provides educational scholarships to the children and spouses of America’s fallen or disabled military service members and first responders. Folds of Honor was founded in 2007 by Lt Col Dan Rooney and has grown from a vision into a movement. The folded flag is a constant reminder of those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. It inspires us to help equip and educate their loved ones in need of our support.

The Impact of Folds of Honor

• Folds of Honor scholarships support the spouses and children of fallen or disabled military service members and first responders.
• Since 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded nearly 73,000 educational scholarships.
• Those 73,000 scholarships total $340M in educational impact.
• Minority recipients represent 43% of all scholarships awarded.
• In the 2025 – 2026 academic year, Folds of Honor awarded nearly 11,000 scholarships totaling over 53 million dollars. While these awards set an all-time single-year record, approximately 7,700 qualified applicants did not receive full funding due to limited resources.
